not what I expected |
I expected to have to use these for at least 3 days to a week in order to notice any results. I have never used any sort of strips before, and tried Luster One Hour Tooth Whitening with the fancy light contraption, which I promptly returned after realizing what a useless product it was.
I tried these strips today. I used "as directed" and stayed in the bathroom getting myself ready, so was able to spit out any of the foamy peroxide that I didn't want to swallow (though I haven't read anything in the instructions that cautioned against swallowing it--I did swallow some, inevitably).
After peeling off the extremely sticky strips (also not what I expected--I thought they would sort of fall away after some minutes. I had no problems peeling them away, by the way), I was very surprised and delighted to notice a difference after the first application. Maybe that is due to staining that came off easily with the peroxide chemical, but it was still quite nice to see my teeth whiter than they have been in a very long time.
The size of the strips were fine--they fit the height of my upper and lowers, with enough room to fold a little around the edges of the teeth. I have read some reviews about them being too short and not whitening the back teeth, but an easy solution would be to use two strips for uppers and two for lowers, starting at the molars and going toward the front, letting the strips overlap at the very front of your teeth. That way your backs and fronts will get the same treatment.
So far, I have no sensitivity, but I do know that using a peroxide chemical in your mouth when you have metal fillings *can* very well give you sensitivity. The one time I ever used a whitener (a tray, once, a few years ago), I noticed right away that the area around the metal fillings was much more sensitive and stayed that way for a while after use.
I will continue to use the strips until I see the desired whiteness... and I highly recommend them to others.

Told my teeth are movie star white! |
Let me start by saying that I smoke, drink red wine and drink tea. I use whitening tooth paste (not any one in particular) daily. I am a religious whitening strip user every 6 months. People used to always tell me that I had beautiful teeth but since I started using these, the compliments are unbelievable. I was even told that my teeth are movie star white.
The strips are very easy to put on. I start in the front so that I can push the strips into every nook and cranny of the teeth. I then work my way to the back, then fold the bottom under, making sure to again push the strips into every section. It sounds like alot but it only takes about a minute.
They stay on so great! I usually keep them on while I'm getting ready in the morning, so I end up leaving then on about 30-40 minutes. They can be a bit messy when taking them off but having a tissue handy will solve that. I like to rinse with mouthwash after removing them to get any excess gel off.
My teeth were only sensitive one time. I fell asleep with them on for about 4 hours. My teeth were sensitive for about 24 hours but were completely back to normal afterwards. |

I had tried Crest White Strips years ago and they slid all over the place. It was so annoying that I returned them. The new Advanced Seal seems to work pretty well the bottom still slips a little but much improved. I have very short bottom teeth so what I discovered if I trip the bottom of the strip for the bottom teeth slightly they grip allot better. Overall I am quite satisfied with this product and I ordered some more. It also helps that Giftsforaman.com is about 1/2 price of my local Walgreens on the White Strips with free shipping. |

Best Whitesrips from Crest |
I purchased this product after reading countless of positive reviews and after using it I decided to submit a review myself. I have to say that these strips are the best whitestrips Crest have made so far. The grip is very firm, sometimes too firm to be honest. The gel does not pour over your teeth, nor gets into your gums like the other strips used to do. My teeth are naturally white to begin with but I like to use whitening products to get that "celebrity white teeth" that look so sexy and classy.
I had a few problems with the regular strips because sometimes my gums got a bit sensitive due to the bleaching gel running over it when I applied the strips. This problem is completely eliminated with the advanced strips. I did notice remarkable results after the third application just as the product promises.
I am quite satisfied with the product and the results. However, I do find that the lower strip is a bit short and does not cover as many teeth as the upper one. Although it is intended to be this way because most people [myself included] only show the top portion of their teeth when smiling and just a slight bottom portion, I do feel that to get the most realistic white look, the bottom strip should be a little larger. This does not pose a problem unless your teeth are really yellow to begin with and after whitening the difference between the un-whitened portion and the whitened one is very remarkable. In that case your best bet would be to go to your dentist and get an in office whitening treatment, although this could be quite costly.
As far as retail whitening products go, the advanced Crest whitening strips are the best on the market and for a great price. If you want to get faster results your best option would be to have an in office one hour whitening treatment which usually cost $500-$600 or a dentist prescribed at home treatment with custom made traits which runs about $300-$350. The later treatment usually takes about 2-3 weeks and the first is completed within one hour. The difference is about 3-4 shades lighter with the dentist treatments, however if your teeth are not too yellow to begin with, the treatment is not worth it especially for such a high price.
In my experience for the $30.00 you spend on the Crest system you get your every dollar worth, but again, that is coming from someone who has natural white teeth to begin with. If you have really yellow teeth your best option would be to have an in office dentist treatment and then you can follow up with the Crest advanced whitestrips for touch ups.
